Overview

Center for Lands Management was accepting submissions for an interactive exhibit that featured animals that were native to California. Dragonflies are amazing creatures that are hundreds of millions of years old and their are well over 100 species in California alone. They do a great job at balancing out the ecosystem by eating common pests as well.

Research

I googled a bunch of images on dragonflies and also did some research on different exhibits. I also looked into various glass domes and air pump games for one of the features of my exhibit.

Modeling

The 3D modeling process was quite the challenge but was worth it because it forced me to come up with unique ways to model in order to achieve the design I sketched. This subsequently improved my 3D modeling skills overall.

Renderings

There are two interactive exhibits; a dragonfly matching game and a dragonfly acrobat tank. The first exhibit allows users to learn about different dragonfly species or colors while playing a fun matching game. The second is an air tank filled with dragonfly figures. When the user activates the pump, it provides a gush of air into the tank . This mimics the dragonfly acrobatic skills it uses when flying seen in nature. The materials used would be various types of wood and metal that way it blends in with the parks environment.
